The Consulate of the Netherlands in Christchurch is closed until further notice. The Consulate office is located in the part of the CBD which is currently inaccessible. Until new arrangements have been made to establish a new office the Consular team in Christchurch will provide the following service for residents in the South Island to apply for passports:
1. Apply at the Embassy in Wellington
You can find the opening hours of the Embassy on the website. If you are travelling from far you are advised to send an e-mail to make an appointment to: wel-ca@minbuza.nl
2. Apply in Christchurch
On the following dates it will be made possible for those who cannot travel easily to Wellington to apply for a passport in Christchurch:
April: Friday 8 and 15
May: Friday 6, 13, 20 and 27
June: Wednesday 8, 15, 22 and 29
July: Wednesday 6, 13, 20 and 27
August: Wednesday 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31
September: Wednesday 14, and 28
October - December: every Thursday
To apply for a passport in Christchurch, we ask you to make an appointment by sending an e-mail to: nl.consulate.chch@xtra.co.nz, or via our online appointment system here.
Together with the confirmation you will then be informed about the time and location of your appointment.

All foreign nationals on the South Island that need to apply for visa can do so at the Embassy in Wellington.
